About Us
Dr. LaTonya Mister, DPT
Tonya was born and raised in Mississippi. She attended undergraduate school at Mississippi State University where she majored in Kinesiology. She attended physical therapy school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and graduated in 2008. Since graduation, she has lived in several states with her two children and husband, who is active duty Air Force.
Tonya has experience in both orthopedic and skilled nursing facility settings. However, Tonya found her passion for pelvic floor physical therapy while working at OU Physicians’ in Oklahoma City. She spent almost two years working in a women’s health physical therapy clinic that specializes in the treatment of pelvic floor disorders. Tonya soon realized how many women were suffering in silence from conditions that are completely treatable.
After opening SOW & REAP Physical Therapy, Tonya soon realized that providers were limited on pelvic health physical therapists that served men suffering from pelvic floor dysfunctions. She has completed classes to learn more on pelvic floor treatments for men and is now accepting men with pelvic floor dysfunctions.
Tonya is certified in dry needling and is an active member of APTA’s section on Pelvic Health and Private Practice section as well as a member of Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce and BNI Lagniappe. She is also the Chair of Community Outreach for Young Professionals Initiative. SOW & REAP Physical Therapy was also an honoree for “Emerging Business of the Year” 2021 at the Minority Business Opportunity Award hosted by the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce. In her spare time, she loves listening to music and spending time with family and friends.
